As a fast paced and growing business, we are looking for an energetic, motivated individual to join our marketing department as an Internal Communications Coordinator to manage both internal communications and employee engagement. Reporting into the Marketing & Creative Lead, you will be responsible for being welcoming and organising visitor days and keeping employees informed and engaged. From managing internal newsletters, creating content to boost morale, and organising events, to overseeing our employee engagement platforms and supporting key staff announcements, you will play a crucial part in fostering a positive company culture. You will also be responsible for managing the visitor process, updating company notice boards, and assisting with internal presentations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on communication strategies, employee engagement, and the overall work environment at Bridge Cheese.

- Prior experience in internal communications, marketing, or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- A background in communications, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects, events, and deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to create engaging, clear, and relevant internal communications, including newsletters, posters, announcements, and event materials.
- Skilled in planning, coordinating, and executing internal events, such as company briefings, celebrations, and team-building activities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences across the company.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with digital communication platforms, employee engagement tools, and content creation software. Experience in using Canva is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively with teams across departments, fostering open communication and ensuring alignment and consistency in messaging.
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially in managing internal communication challenges and event coordination.
- Build rapport and welcome all visitors to the site, organising necessary PPE, lunch arrangements etc.
- A flair for developing creative content and visuals that engage employees and enhance company culture.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality standards.
- Willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with new communication strategies, tools, and platforms.
- Strong relationship-building abilities, ensuring effective engagement with staff and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Newsletters: Write and distribute newsletters to keep employees updated on company news, milestones, and events.
Visitor Requirements: You will be responsible to welcoming all visitors to the site, organising any requirements such as PPE, car parking, lunch etc.
Travel Arrangements: There will be a requirement to organised hotel bookings, flights and so on, for any management members, who are required to travel for business.
Employee Engagement: Develop and manage initiatives that boost employee morale and engagement, such as recognition programs, surveys, and creating content to promote a positive work culture.
Internal Event Planning and Coordination: Organise internal events including birthdays, charity events, and company briefings, ensuring all aspects run smoothly and employees are involved.
Internal Communication Strategies: Develop and execute strategies to improve communication between departments, ensuring information flows smoothly and efficiently across all teams.
Employee Engagement Platform Oversight: Oversee the company’s internal platforms, such as the private Facebook group and marketing screens, ensuring they are up-to-date, well-maintained, and used effectively.
Preparing Staff Announcements: Coordinate and distribute key staff announcements related to new hires, company achievements, and other important updates.
Creating Posters for Events: Design and distribute posters for internal events and activities to ensure they are promoted and visible to employees.
Managing Guest Reception and Visitor Process: Oversee the entire visitor process, ensuring guests are warmly welcomed, properly hosted, and directed to the relevant teams. Coordinate visits, make a positive first impression of the company, and facilitate smooth interactions between visitors and employees.
Updating the Notice Board and Company Welcome Screen: Regularly update the physical and digital notice boards and welcome screens to keep staff informed about upcoming events and important updates.
Building Relationships with Staff: Foster strong relationships with employees to ensure they are aware of upcoming events, and encourage participation in company initiatives.
Collating Information and Creating Presentations: Gather information from various departments and create engaging presentations for internal meetings, briefings, or events.
Training and Onboarding Materials: Assist in creating and distributing materials to onboard new employees or provide internal training resources.
Feedback and Listening: Gather feedback from employees on communication effectiveness, gather insights via surveys or focus groups, and suggest improvements.
Policy and Procedure Communication: Ensure that company policies, procedures, and updates are clearly communicated to staff in a timely manner.
Supporting Communication: Assist in crafting and delivering consistent, impactful messages to the team, especially during company-wide updates.
Additional Requirements
You will be required to go into the factory areas. Please mindful that as part of this, you will need to remove all jewellery & piercings (with the exception of a plain wedding band). False eyelashes/eyelash extensions, nail varnish and false nails are not permitted in these areas.
Hours:
8 hour shift, Monday to Friday, permanant
Salary:
£25,000 - £27,000 a year
