Meet debox supervisor Sam Wong, who went from an agency temp to a permanent star of the team who enjoys the stimulating blend of cultures and traditions that Bridge Cheese fosters.
What do you do at Bridge Cheese?
I am the supervisor of the debox section. My daily tasks include checking the plan and keeping track of any updates, bringing the correct cheese at the right time and feeding this onto the belt to make sure our customers receive the quality and consistency they expect. I also help my team and keep them motivated.
How long have you worked at Bridge Cheese?
This is my first job in the food industry and my first job in the UK. I started as agency staff in March 2022 and then spent my summer in Hong Kong. In September 2022 I became a permanent employee.
What excites you most about your job?
The highlight of working at Bridge Cheese is meeting people from various backgrounds, such as Ghana, Romania and Poland, and learning more about them.
What is your superpower at work?
My superpowers at work are energy and teamwork, as this makes me feel accomplished at the end of the day.
What do you like the most about working for Bridge Cheese?
As this is my first job in the food industry, Bridge Cheese provided me with training and helped me develop my skills, which is why it is great working here.
Favourite cheese and why?
Mozzarella is my favourite cheese as it tastes amazing on pizza.
